Sisters, Margaret Clara Crawley (1884-1891) and Elizabeth 'Ellen' Crawley rest in this grave at Gympie Cemetery together. They are the daughters of George Sowden Crawley 1850-1921 and Jane Anne Crawley (née Corkan) 1855-1931.
Margaret was born on the 1st December 1884 in Gympie, the 3rd child of nine children. The children in order of birth:

Margaret died on the 25th February at Monkland, Gympie aged 7 years, the cause of her death was Typhoid fever. She was buried here in the Gympie General Cemetery on 26th February 1891.
Parents:
George Sowden Crawley (Snr) was born in the 11th December 1850 in Shadwell, Middlesex England. He came as the 3rd mate on a ship to Sydney Australia, where he met Jane Ann Corkan born 17th February 1855 in Sydney. They married in Sydney in 1871 where they had one son—named after his father—George Sowden Crawley. Tragically George, died on the 31st December 1878 (yes New Years Eve) at 4 years of age (unknown cause) while a newspaper notice stated he died at the residence of his aunt at the Trevado Hotel in Ultimo Sydney. He was buried the next day in the Rookwood Catholic Cemetery.
Soon after their son died, George and Jane Crawley moved to Gympie, Queensland (1979) where they lived for 39 years, raising another 8 children and George worked in the goldfields as an Engine driver.
During their time in Gympie three more of their children died - Margaret (7) John (22) and Ellen/Elizabeth (3). In approximately 1919 they moved to Ipswich where George (Snr) died just 2 years later in April 1921. He is resting in the Ipswich Cemetery, Roman Catholic section 1A unknown plot. Jane was living with her son George Henry Crawley and his wife in Ebbw Vale Ipswich when she died 10 years later in May 1931. Jane is also buried in the Ipswich Cemetery Roman Catholic Section 2A Row 1 Grave 40.
According to her Obituary in the Queensland Times (Ipswich Saturday 23 May 1931, page 14 - BUNDAMBA DISTRICT, DINMORE... She had reached the age of 76 years. Mrs Crawley was in her usual health on the night before she passed away and was chatting freely with her son and his wife. In the morning she complained of a bad headache. While she was being attended to she lapsed into unconsciousness and suddenly passed away.
