Robert (Bob) (Bob) Eric Scriven 1934 - 2015

Lillian Ella Scriven
When he was a boy, his parents moved to Dayboro where his father bought the local butchery. Bob rode a horse and had to herd the cattle across the road to the holding yards where he helped his father to slaughter them. From the time he was approximately 16 years of age, Bob would spend about three days at a time on the road delivering meat to properties in the area by truck on his own. He sometimes went through swollen rivers, having to open both doors to let water flow through, and camping along the way. In 1969 when his father passed away Bob along with his mum and brother moved to Aspley where they lived on Gympie Road. He spent many years working at ARC fencing Geebung, during this time he married and had two daughters—Denise and Narelle—however, he divorced in early 1970's.
Bob met Kathleen (Kath) Montagu at the Chermside Bowls Club Rode Road Chermside in 1975. They enjoyed bowling and attending dances during their courting and were married on the 20th May 1978 in Brisbane. Bob moved in with Kath and her three children at her home in Stafford and became stepdad to Kath's three children and eventually Poppy Bob to their grandchildren.
They moved several times, from Stafford to Carseldine to Bald Hills and finally together at Symes Grove Retirement Village Taigum when Bob passed on the 23rd February 2015 aged 80 years.
Bob's parents are buried at Albany Creek Memorial Park Cemetery and Crematorium, Bridgeman Downs, Queensland, Australia. His brother, (who never married or had children) is buried at Pinaroo Lawn Cemetery Bridgeman Downs, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Information shared by Bob's wife Kath Scriven 2024.
