Ida Veronica Daly 1927 - 2023

She was the eldest of ten children, six to her parents—Ida, Lance, Kevin, Dorothy, Beth and Errol and four to her fathers second marriage—William, Rodney, Sharon and Mervin.
When she was a child the family moved to the Bundaberg area as her father was a share farmer.
Ida was a keen traveller and as soon as she was old enough, she left home to travel and work. After the war Ida moved to Sydney where she worked at the railway, then delivering mail at the Homebush Post Office.
During a visit back home to Bundaberg, she met her future husband Denis Daly (Penny) - a friend of her brother.
Ida and Denis married in 1950 and moved to ‘Doon Doon’ at Commissioners Creek (NSW) to work as dairy farmers where they raised their eight children - Andrew, Maree, Irene, Denise, Michael, Theresa, Matthew and Annette.
They stayed in the area moving to Uki in 1965, continuing to dairy farm on the property Ida still lived in till her passing in 2023.
After her beloved ‘Penny’ passed away in 1985, Ida travelled the world learning different healing techniques, always coming back home to Uki and her village life, where she was regarded as a much loved and wise elder.
Ida passed away on the 24th July 2023 and is buried in Murwillumbah Lawn Cemetery with her beloved husband; in the area they moved to as newly weds 73 years before.
Ida's father was cremated in Brisbane while her mum who re-married is buried in Bundaberg as Ida Langbecker. Information shared by Ida's daughter Annette, April 2024.
